MARIPOSA WAYFINDING

Purpose: Design a new signage system for Mariposa Hall. A series of pictograms also needs to be created and integrated into this system. 

Approach: Reseach was conducted in order to discover current problems or confusing areas and plan future signage based on these issues. I was inspired by shapes the building possess and implemented these shapes onto the signage frames. I developed the color palatte based off the building as well. I chose Fruitiger as the typeface to represent Mariposa since it has geometric shapes similar to the building and is readable from a distance. Subject specific pictograms were developed for the College of Arts and Letters and incorporated into a system of some general pictograms utilizing sharp geometric shapes.
