PHANTASMAGORIA VIDEO

Purpose: Design an animated commercial bumper for a new upcoming television channel or show. The bumper needs to also present the logo for the channel or show. I picked a ghost story show that revisits the history of a haunted space and how it became haunted as a drama. I chose to call it Phantasmagoria, a form of ghost storytelling.

Approach: I was inspired by Stephen Gammell illustrations and wanted to animate my own. I created a series of 30 illustrations for this particular bumper using stringy and soft pastel illustrations with prisma colored pencils. I changed the tone halfway through the piece in order to tie in the metaphor of time. The viewer experiences this haunted space in first person point of view as if they themselves are exploring the house and revisiting the past.
